Creating Winning Outcomes

“The act of taking the first step is what separates the winners from the losers.”
Brian Tracy

The Crescenta Valley Chamber of Commerce can help you make the first step with so many great events.

We have our Dine-Out Night on Tuesday, July 5 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Franks Famous, 3315 N. Verdugo Road, Glendale. The money helps the Mary Pinola/CV Chamber Educational Foundation, which gives over $15,000 in grants to educational programs in the Crescenta Valley each year. This fund was established as a tribute to the 1988-90 CV Chamber Honorary Mayor Mary Pinola who worked with many other dedicated community leaders to support educational programs for the Crescenta Valley.

Established in June of 1990, the fund provides yearly distributions of monies to Crescenta Valley educational programs. That initial fundraiser brought in $400 to a fund that is now over $150,000. Last year, a record 14 organizations received grants including Clark Magnet School, La Crescenta Elementary School, CVHS Instrumental Music Program, Glendale Educational Foundation, Glendale Healthy Kids, La Cañada Community Center, Rosemont Middle School Drama Program, St. James the Less Elementary School and the Verdugo Hills Hospital Foundation.  Please join us at Dine-Out Night to help build this fund.

Our Scholarship Golf Tournament at the Verdugo Hills Golf Course is on Saturday, July 9. For only $40, you play golf, have lunch and help give money for scholarships to local high school students. This year we gave four worthy students a scholarship to help with their college expenses.

On July 13, we have our business mixer at BIS Computer Solutions. This is a great way to support a local business while mingling with about 50-60 local business people.

On Saturday, July 23 we will be making the planet happy with our E-Waste recycling event. You finally have a safe place to bring those old computers, televisions, monitors, printers, fax machines, copiers or most other electronics that are old relics sitting in the back corners of the garage. Bring them to the CV Chamber office parking lot for e-Recycling Saturday, July 23. Global e-Recyclers, Inc. is organizing this event that will take place at the chamber office parking lot at Palms Plaza, 3131 Foothill Blvd., La Crescenta on Saturday, July 23 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Global e-Recyclers, Inc. will make sure your e-waste is properly handled, disposed of and recycled. They also include identity theft protection via data destruction of your hard drives.
