»Crescenta Valley Chamber of Commerce “Our Business is Your Business”

The 2016 Crescenta Valley Chamber Scholarship Golf Tournament, held last Friday at Scholl Canyon Golf Course, was a big success. By all accounts golfers had a great time, the weather cooperated and everyone enjoyed their steak and salmon lunch, barbecued on-site by Zeke’s. Whether it was a raffle prize, a scholarship, a piece of sports memorabilia, a free massage or a trophy, the vast majority of the 70 or so participants went home winners. And everyone could feel good knowing they participated in an event that supports the Chamber’s scholarship fund as well as the Desi Geestman Foundation, an organization dedicated to touching the lives of children with cancer.

Congratulations to the tournament winners of the day:

1st place: Chris Aristo, Paul Aristo, Justin Myers and Adam Kaye

2nd place: JD Speas, Tom Flanagan and Jordan Nedeff

3rd place: Mike Delaney, Gary Johnson, Chris Kerley and Matt Anderson

Putting Contest: Jordan Nedeff was the winner out of 43 players on a five-hole putting course set up by the Chamber’s own Mike Riley.

Closest-to-the-Pin Contest: Chamber board president Kaipo Chock shot closest to the pin on Hole #11.

Tournament Chairman Leonard Ghazarian had this to say: “I definitely thought it was a success. It was better attended than last year and the majority of feedback I received was very positive. The golf committee worked well together and pulled off a great event.” He thanks everyone involved.

Specifically, the Chamber wants to thank the volunteers, donors and sponsors that helped make this event possible. Volunteers Lynn McGinnis, Bonnie Marshall, Bobbi Chock, Deja Stevens, George Preston, various Chamber board members and members of the Prom Plus Club all helped make the day run smoothly.
