News from the Montrose Verdugo Chamber of Commerce

‘And the Show Goes On!’

Summer is officially here, the 4th of July is just a few days away, and Oktoberfest 2021 is on! It’s an exciting time of year and the recent full re-opening of our beloved Montrose and local businesses are giving us nostalgia for 2019 in the best way possible.

Oktoberfest this year will have all of your favorites from recent years – brats, German dinner, D’Oberlander Dancers, rides, games and contests then closing out the night with ’80s cover band Past Action Heroes.

The MVCC wishes you all a sunny summer in Montrose; don’t forget to shop locally and we hope to see you all at our upcoming events!

For those who do not yet follow us on social media, please do so to stay up-to-date with all of the latest resources available. Our Instagram handle is @Montrose_Chamber and our Facebook is Facebook.com/ MontroseChamber.

Meet the newest small business members of the MVCC:

  • Wyre Scape Inc. – A local sound system engineering company
  • MD Spa Medica – Dr. Nilesh Bhoot is a board-certified general and minimally-invasive surgeon specializing in advanced aesthetic and cosmetic surgery.
  • One Strength Fitness – A certified strength and conditioning specialist
  • Simple Life Delivery – A local food delivery service.

Meet MVCC’s four new directors:

  • Trevor Marca, owner of Simple Life Delivery. Trevor is an active member of the Montrose, La Cañada, Glendale, and Burbank communities. He previously worked with several magazines including Glendale Hills Living. Trevor recently finished his term with the Glendale Chamber of Commerce.
  • Hilda Morovati, owner of EmbroidMe (on North Verdugo at Broadview in Glendale). You might remember Hilda from last year when EmbroidMe joined the MVCC and we posted a video of their embroidering process. Some of you may also know her from her volunteer work with Oktoberfest in past years.
  • Michael Thatcher, co-publisher of a few magazines, including but not limited to La Crescenta-Montrose Neighbors, La Cañada Flintridge Neighbors, and Glendale Hills Living. Michael is familiar with our community having grown up in La Cañada. Just as his business catchphrase states, Michael is brilliant at “Bringing People Together.”
  • Sara Shahmoradian, the “Millennial Realtor” with Compass. Sara is also a local who is familiar with the community here. She understands the importance of educating our millennial generation about the home buying process and does so via her fun and playful social media and podcast, “Real Estate for Millennials.” Check out her content; her millennial charm will surely captivate you.

Chamber Updates/Resources:

  • Oktoberfest will resume this year on the first Saturday in October. We look forward to releasing more information about it as it becomes available. If you are interested in volunteering or sponsoring the event or a booth, please reach out to mvcc@montrosechamber.org.
  • Sunday, July 4th – CV Fireworks Association will host its annual fireworks show. Spectators will not be allowed on the field due to COVID restrictions but residents across Crescenta Valley can enjoy the “primarily high up in the air” fireworks show from many spots outside of the school.
