Artwalk this Saturday in Montrose

The Montrose-Verdugo City Chamber of Commerce will be hosting the second Artwalk of the year this Saturday, July 21 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. We have many new artists that will be displaying their work this weekend plus many of your old favorites that you have come to know and love will be there as well. Come out, enjoy the beautiful weather, and watch the artists working while strolling along the tree-lined streets in the 2300 & 2400 blocks of Honolulu Avenue. All artwork is original to the artist. We have various artists representing many genres in the art world: watercolor, oils, acrylics, etchings, photographers, collagists and more. There will once again be music playing for you to enjoy.

While you are in Montrose you can have lunch at one of the many restaurants in town, have an ice cream cone and browse all the wonderful shops on Honolulu Avenue. It’s a great family outing! Don’t forget to drop by the new businesses in town and see what they have to offer.

We have two business mixers coming up that you need to be sure and attend. The first one is our annual “Tropical Beach Party” mixer on Wednesday, Aug. 1 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. There will be surfer music, Hula Hoops, a make shift beach and a prize for the best beach attire. The mixer will be at Chris Aristo’s State Farm Insurance office at 2409 Honolulu Ave., Ste #5.

The second mixer is on a special night. It will be on Monday, Aug. 27 at Montrose Bakery and Coffee Shop. Owner Henry Baeza, who has been in Montrose for over 20 years, has just started serving dinner! He will have samples of all the delicious new things that he has to offer and will of course have many of his pastry goods out as well. This will be a fun night in the heart of Montrose and a great way to connect to other businesses in the area.
