Thanks to Supervisor Michael Antonovich and the County of Los Angeles, you can once again ride the Summer Beach Bus! The Beach Bus picks up passengers from several places in the Crescenta Valley and takes them to and from the Santa Monica Pier to enjoy a great day at the beach! The best part is you don’t have to drive and hassle with the traffic, look for a parking space or pay the $12 fee to park! It drops you off right next to the pier so you can not only enjoy playing in the water and lying in the sun, but you can head to the pier for games, rides and food. Passengers can board the Summer Beach Bus now through Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 7. It runs on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Space is limited for the Beach Bus so you must make reservations! It’s easy to plan ahead because you can make a reservation up to 10 days in advance. To make a reservation log onto www.lagobus.info. You only pay $3 per person to the bus driver when you get on the bus. Just a reminder – anyone under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

Here are the schedules for pick up and drop off. Pick Up: Two Strike Park/Rosemont Avenue at 9:15 a.m., La Crescenta Library/Foothill Boulevard at 9:25 a.m., Montrose Avenue/Ocean View Boulevard (southeast corner) at 9:35 a.m.

Drop Off: Two Strike Park at 4:30 p.m., the La Crescenta Library at 4:35 p.m., Montrose Avenue/Ocean View Boulevard (SE corner) at 4:45 p.m. depending on the traffic.

So grab a bunch of your friends and make a day of it! If you have any questions, please call (626) 458-3909 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Thursday.

Summer Concerts in the Park at Verdugo Park is on for Wednesday, July 29.  This week will feature the R&B dance sound of the Cold Ducks. The Cold Ducks “bill” themselves as the premier dance band since 1969 and come complete with a horn section and a woodwind section! You can bring your own chairs and blankets and picnic supper or you can use the great padded chairs provided. So please come out and enjoy this free concert in the park brought to you by Glendale Community Services and Parks Dept.
