Montrose is a treasure trove for one-of-a-kind businesses and things you won’t find elsewhere. It is with this spirit that we offer the Harvest Marketplace.

In addition to fruits and veggies at our Sunday farmer’s event, the Marketplace offers a unique and handpicked collection of vendors with a wide array of collectibles, antiques, artisanal and hand crafted products. We have strict product guidelines for our Marketplace vendors and we do not accept vendors into the market who wholesale or resell new merchandise. You can get that anywhere. Instead we prefer to offer you artists, and the like, who produce their own work, especially when they are able to do their craft as we watch.

Linda McMenamin, our wonderful Marketplace manager, is overseeing a full and exciting venue. I wish I could write about everyone – and eventually I hope to. For now I’m going entice you with a handful of new people to meet and things to discover.

You must stop at Goat Rodeo Soap! Owners John and Janice live out in Riverside with the goats that produce the milk for these exquisitely handcrafted soaps. The soaps are beautiful to behold and the smells are heavenly. With scents like “lavender anise” and “coffee” stampings, and herbs, these are truly unique.

Come rain or shine you will find Jane Saltzman driving her classic orange mustang to present her wares at the Market. Everyone loves Jane and her special fabric books and quilts.

Dee Dee and Jim Hsu Ceramics is a new booth to check out. Their works are both creative and useful.

If you are into recycling, you will appreciate Threadfarm Upcycled Clothing where vintage gets a redo that you can wear and or use.

Wooden puzzles are handmade by Jeanette and so special.

Artist Vince Takas, who is famous for painting the Montrose clock seen on our website, has a fabulous array of paintings both local and from sights he has visited around the world.

So do join us every Sunday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. to shop the Harvest Marketplace and all the fun stores around town. For more info see our website www.shopmontrose.com.
