Banquet Recognizes Those Who Serve

The CV Chamber has been recognizing outstanding people, places and organizations in our community every year for decades. It is time once again to reach out to the public for your nominees for the 2018 Recognition Banquet to be held on Nov. 1 at La Cañada Flintridge Country Club. Contact our office for a nomination application. Deadline for entry is Sept. 28.

Man of the Year: Harry Leon, Mark Yeager, Dwight Sityar, Mike Baldwin, Alex Woo. Woman of the Year: Lynn Miyamoto, Cynthia Livingston, Robin Goldsworthy, Mary O’Keefe, Cheryl Davis. Volunteer of the Year: Edwin “Dick” Clubb, Lynn McGinnis, Calvin “Kaipo” Chock, John Giblin, Julie Dowse. Business of the Year: USC Verdugo Hills Hospital, Dream Dinners – La Crescenta, Bob Smith Toyota Scion, Straw Hat Pizza, CV Tow Service. Beautification Award: La Crescenta Woman’s Club, Crescenta Valley Skate Park, Crescenta Commons, First Baptist Church – La Crescenta, Two Strike Park – War Memorial. Organization of the Year: Crescenta Valley Fire Safe Council, YMCA of the Foothills, American Legion/VFW, Prom Plus, La Crescenta Woman’s Club.

Coming Up: Our August mixer is at the Center for Spiritual Living, 4845 Dunsmore Ave. in La Crescenta. Stop by on Wednesday, Aug. 8 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. There will be food, drinks, conversation, presentations and prizes. Entry is $10 for members; $15 for non-members. The member jackpot is still growing … it’s now up to $300! But you’ve got to be there to win!
