Sushi Time!
Did you know that there are a lot of health benefits to eating sushi? It has the ability to lower blood pressure – and that’s just the beginning. Sushi can decrease levels of bad cholesterol as well. Sushi can also strengthen your immune system.
Sushi is known all over the world. It has been around for about 700 years but is perhaps best known in Japanese cuisine and is typically prepared with vinegar rice.
There are five different kinds of sushi: nigiri, sashimi, maki, uramaki and temaki. Nigiri has fish topping served with rice. Sashimi is fish or shellfish served alone with no rice. Maki is rice and filling wrapped in seaweed. Uramaki is similar to maki, but the rice is on the outside and seaweed wraps around the filling. Temaki is hand-rolled in a cone shape.
With the current health craze surrounding omega-3 fatty acids there is no stopping eating sushi all day, everyday! So, who wants sushi now?
