Making a Difference in the Crescenta Valley

“There is little difference in people, but that little difference makes a big
difference. The little difference is attitude. The big difference is whether
it is positive or negative.”
– W. Clement Stone

Thank you to all those wonderful people that brought their PCs, CPUs, televisions, CRT monitors, printers, fax machines, copiers and most other electronics to our CV Chamber office parking lot for e-recycling this past weekend. Over four pallets were collected and recycled. We’d like to thank Green World Realty, the sponsor of the e-waste recycling event. It is wonderful that Green World Realty is making a difference in our world by committing to sustainable business practices and educating both buyers and sellers about sustainable homes, developments and communities, while also sponsoring community events that help keep the world “green.” You can reach Green World Realty toll free at (800) 310-8728 to have them help you buy/sell a home or to thank them for helping to save the planet.

We also held two great ribbon cuttings this past weekend. A new restaurant has opened in the Crescenta Valley called Loco Wings – Hot Wings Gone Wild.  They are located at 6864 Foothill Blvd. in Tujunga. They boast over 10 flavors of wings along with a diverse menu of other foods and desserts. They say they are the home of the hottest wings in Los Angeles. You can visit their restaurant or look them up at www.locowings.com.

Have you been to the Fish Cove in La Crescenta? This is a beautiful tropical fish store with a huge array of tanks with what seems like millions of different types of fish. The new owners Melinda and Bruce would love for you to come in and take a tour of all the wonderful exotic fish they have. If you own a tank, they have the most extensive amount of supplies that you would need to keep your tank healthy and vibrant. They are located at 3902 Foothill Blvd. in La Crescenta, near the corner of Lowell.

If you missed our golf tournament last month, you will soon have another chance to show your golf prowess on Aug. 2 during our Dine Out night at Golf N’ Grill. Join us for a night of food, fun and golfing with proceeds helping educational projects in the Crescenta Valley through the Mary Pinola/CV Chamber Educational Endowment Foundation. Don’t miss this great chance to eat out, help a local restaurant and help local schools at the same time.

Hope to see you there!

Important dates: Aug. 2 – Dine Out Night at Golf N’ Grill; Aug. 10 – Caspian Services business mixer.
