Mixing It Up at CV Chamber

The Crescenta Valley Chamber of Commerce August mixer will be hosted by the Community Center of La Cañada Flintridge on Wednesday, Aug. 14 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The address is 4469 Chevy Chase Drive in La Cañada Flintridge.

The Community Center of La Cañada Flintridge is a place where people of all ages can go. For over 60 years, the center has thrived on its volunteerism. It has evolved from an organization that was created to give service to kids into a place for children, teens, adults and seniors.

There are sports programs that even teach basics to our preschool age children. The sports vary and include basketball, tennis, karate, skateboarding and T-ball. The community center promotes parents and teens volunteering in these sports programs as well.

For senior citizens, there is an expo especially designed to promote increased quality of life for seniors. Currently, the community center is offering classes for seniors in ballroom dancing, hula dance fitness, tai chi, and a bridge club! There is something for everyone.

So, as the end of summer approaches quickly, do not forget to make some time to head over to the Community Center of La Cañada Flintridge. You can take a look at what programs you can participate in or you can find out how to donate, volunteer or sponsor. Visit their website at http://www.cclcf.org, or call (818) 790-4353 during office hours Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5p.m. for more information.

If you are free on Wednesday, Aug. 14 at 6 p.m., come join us at the mixer for some refreshments and maybe even win a prize! The admission cost is $7 for chamber members and $9 for non-members.
