Montrose Food & Brewfest is Rescheduled but Oktoberfest is On!
Our biggest day of the year is almost upon us! The 37th Annual Oktoberfest is taking place on Saturday, Oct. 3 from noon to 11 p.m. along 2200, 2300 and 2400 blocks of Honolulu Avenue in the Montrose Shopping Park. People come from far and wide to enjoy the food, fun, music, authentic German food and the incredible music that takes place on four different stages located throughout the event. CBS Los Angeles named the Montrose-Verdugo City Chamber of Commerce’s Oktoberfest “One of 2014’s Best Places to Celebrate Oktoberfest in Los Angeles” and highlighted the incredible music and nightlife that our event has. How great is that! We will once again have all the rides you have come to know and love, plus a couple of new ones, our great German food provided by our very own Schreiner’s Fine Sausages, authentic German beer and seasonal favorite beers from Ace Beverage, local entertainment, German entertainment, well known bands from the Southern California area, our “kid zone” on the 2400 block and lots of fun! We hope you will once again come out and join us for this great event with your entire family. We really do have something for everyone!
We are updating our Oktoberfest website with all the details. Once it is up and running we will let you know.
I know how much everyone enjoyed our 1st Annual Montrose Food and Brewfest last year and we don’t want to let you down. We are planning on having a second annual event and are looking to Sunday, March 13 just in time for St. Patrick’s Day! We had to reschedule due to unforeseen circumstances with the location and the planning of the event. At this time we already have 15 breweries secured and will be adding more. The event was such a huge success with all of the vendors last year that they all wanted to come back. They really loved this town, the organization of the event, the causes that we gave to and especially the people. All the brewers said that this was the “friendliest town” that they had been to and really enjoyed themselves. Many of the brewers ended up contacting our local restaurants and soon the local beers were being served at Basin 141, OV Bistro, Giuseppe’s, THEE Elbow Room and many others. We will be updating our website and getting you all of the details very soon. We are looking forward to a successful event and to once again giving back to the Glendale Fire Fighters Association and the Glendale Police Foundation which both help raise funds to support their programs and purchase equipment and supplies that would otherwise not be available to them.
