If You’ve Ever Considered Joining the Chamber …
Now’s the time! The windows of opportunity for two important promotional benefits of Chamber membership are about to close.
We’re coming up on the publication date of our 2017-18 Best Business Directory. This useful booklet is hand-delivered to over 10,000 households in the Crescenta Valley. It’s a handy guide for residents looking for goods and service providers whom they can trust. Research has proved that people are more likely to trust and call upon members of chambers of commerce. Join today and get your free listing in our Best Business Directory before we go to print.
The second important opportunity to increase your business’ visibility is the annual Foothills Community Business Expo coming up on Sept. 13 at USC Verdugo Hills Hospital. Presented in conjunction with the La Cañada Flintridge and Montrose-Verdugo City chambers, this is a great way to introduce your business to residents and the business community at large. However you have to be a member to participate. Join today and then sign up for the Expo before the Aug. 17 deadline.
Some businesses wait until they get their website up and running before joining the chamber. No need! We’ve discovered that more often than not, when doing a Google search for a particular business member, the company’s CV Chamber web directory listing comes up first. Use the Chamber to increase your Internet presence before or after your website is online. Just one more reason to join.
Here’s my final reason to join the CV Chamber this month: It’s written in the stars! Two important heavenly happenings are taking place this month, and that must be a good sign. Because we live in a great community, free observation events are being offered:
On Saturday, Aug. 12 from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m., the public is invited to attend a Perseid Meteor Shower Viewing Party at Deukmajian Wilderness Park. Astronomy-themed snacks and drinks will be provided by Glendale Parks & Open Space Foundation. Bring a blanket or chair to watch the night sky. You must call to reserve your spot, though, at (818) 548-3795.
And on Monday, Aug. 21 from 9 a.m. to noon, Glendale Community College will open its planetarium to the public to watch the solar eclipse. Make your own eclipse viewer, learn about the moon and stars, and talk with real astronomers. NASA volunteers will be on hand to answer questions.
For more information on joining the Crescenta Valley Chamber of Commerce call me, Lisa Dupuy, at the Chamber office any weekday between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at (818) 248-4957. Or sign up online at www.crescentavalleychamber.org.
