Schreiner’s kicks off Oktoberfest preparations

Ted Ayala

By the time you read this article, we’ll be just about to end the second week of August. Which means Oktoberfest is just around the corner. Last week, the MVCCC held its Oktoberfest mixer at Schreiner’s Fine Sausages in Montrose. For most of you, Schreiner’s is a community icon that needs no further introduction. For over half a century, Schreiner’s has been the region’s leading purveyor of fine deli meats. Their famous bratwursts are an Oktoberfest staple. Not only do they have a wide selection of deli meats and sausages, but they carry a wide selection of German and Austrian chocolates and candies. If you love Crunch bars, you will absolutely love the Ritter Sport Bar, a milk chocolate square with crispy corn flakes inside. The taste is truly amazing. Believe me, you’ll never go back to eating a boring Crunch bar again. Also sample their fine assortment of beers and soft drinks. Schreiner’s has so many tasty treats that can satisfy just about any appetite.
Our mixer was a great success thanks to the help of Wally Schreiner, Jr. (Schreiner’s owner) and Jeff Arnone (Schreiner’s marketing director). As always, great food and fun abounded at our mixer. Whenever you’re in Montrose, don’t ever pass on the chance to visit this landmark. Thank you to Schreiner’s for the great mixer!
Next month the MVCCC, in conjunction with our friends at the Crescenta Valley and La Cañada Chambers of Commerce, will be holding the Foothills Expo at the Verdugo Hills Hospital. On Wednesday, Sept. 8, businesses from all across the area will be displaying their goods and services to the community. The Foothills Expo is a great way to introduce yourself to the community and make your business known. If your business would like to participate in the Foothills Expo, call our chamber office at (818) 249-7171 for more information.
Oktoberfest is the region’s biggest event of the year. Attracting over an estimated 40,000 visitors, getting your business to help sponsor the Oktoberfest is a surefire way to get your business seen by tens of thousands of new customers. Oktoberfest sponsors get to have their business name and logo promoted on banners at the event, as well as pre-event advertising. Don’t let this chance for your business to get huge exposure pass you by. Contact me at the MVCCC office to find out how you can sponsor Oktoberfest.
