Gathering Together for Business Education
“We cannot live only for ourselves. A thousand fibers connect
us with our fellow men.”– Herman Melville
Please help a local restaurant and educational programs at the same time by eating out during our Dine-Out Night on Sept. 6 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Giuseppe’s Pizzeria. The money helps the Mary Pinola/CV Chamber Educational Foundation, which gives over $15,000 in grants to educational programs in the Crescenta Valley each year.
Another way to help a local business is to join us at our September business mixer that is moved next month to the first Wednesday in September. Please join us at Kumon Reading and Math Center, 2754 Foothill Blvd., La Crescenta from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. This is a great way to meet, mix and mingle with 50 to 60 local business owners and residents, all while finding out all about a local business, Kumon.
The Kumon Reading and Math Program helps a child reach their true potential and motivates children to achieve more. Kumon, the world’s largest after-school math and reading enrichment program, allows students of all ages and abilities to develop the skills necessary to have a richer, more successful educational experience. It’s where they gain the confidence and motivation to learn, accomplish and achieve more on their own. Find out more about Kumon at our mixer or visit their website at www.kumon.com/la-crescenta.
On the second Wednesday in September we will be at the Foothills Community Business Expo. This is the biggest networking event held in this area. The Foothills Community Business Expo is held every year at the Verdugo Hills Hospital and over 60 vendors set up in the council rooms of the hospital to display and network with the other participants and the general public that attends at no charge. There are only a few booths left as we usually sell out and the quicker you get your booth application into us the better spot you will have at the expo. Thank you to the following restaurants that will be donating food at the expo: Angeles National Golf Club, Dream Dinners La Crescenta, Frank’s Famous Kitchen & Catering, Leo’s All-Star Sports Bar & Grill, Leon Bakery & Café, Loco Wings, Montrose Bakery, Pepe’s Mexican Restaurant, and Quiznos Montrose. If your business does not get a booth, we still hope you come for free and support the businesses. And if the free food and networking doesn’t entice you to come, Crescenta Valley Insurance will have a drawing that evening for an iPad 2.
Hope to see you there!
