Glendale Tech Week

Glendale Tech Week begins Wednesday, Sept. 14 and continues through Saturday, Sept. 17 ending at the Glendale Open Arts and Music Festival. Tech Week is a four-day technology festival for entrepreneurs, tech visionaries and thought-leaders to meet and enable the innovation ecosystem across the globe. Tech Week draws attendees that are an attractive demographic ideal for recruiters and marketers alike. The focus is on graphic design, animation, media, software, illustration, web technology, intellectual discussion, web development, professional networking, entrepreneurship, visual effects, civic engagement, venture capital, technology startups, digital journalism, and much more. Tech week is a partnership among the Glendale Economic Development Corporation, the City of Glendale and a growing number of private and non-profit institutions including Glendale Community College, Glendale Arts, Glendale Chamber of Commerce, Downtown Glendale Association, the Montrose-Verdugo City Chamber of Commerce and CBRE. The Glendale Economic Development Corporation is a non-profit
501(c)(3) formed to assist and support the City in the expansion of job opportunities; stimulation of economic development; growth in the physical improvement of the City; and to implement, assist and support the City in development activities. Throughout the four-day event there will be many opportunities for you to attend: Building Mobile Apps and Web Experiences for Consumer Audiences hosted by YP, Innovations In Healthcare, Mobile First hosted by Legal Zoom, Innovations In Engineering and Education Hosted by GCC, New Media Landscape hosted by MGN Five Star Cinema, Space Matters: How Design Fosters Community & Innovation hosted by Space 134 and Vincent Bradley: How To Leverage Crowdfunding For Your Fundraiser. You can find out all of the details at glendaletechweek.com.

The Glendale Economic Development Department has also started a monthly tech meeting called Glendale Tech on Tap. What is tech on tap? A monthly meet-up series where techies and entrepreneurs discuss the latest technological innovations in a social and open environment. This is a group for anyone interested in Glendale-based tech startups found in film, entertainment, media, animation, music, healthcare, finance and other emerging technologies. This group was started because the City wants to build on the region’s burgeoning tech sector. Tech on Tap meets monthly at the Moose Den, 156 S. Brand Blvd. in Glendale and brings in various types of technologies and entrepreneurs who share their experience. This month’s Tech on Tap meeting was on Aug. 17 and featured Vahe Kuzoyan, president of ServiceTitan. Service Titan is a four-year-old company, and is a mobile, cloud-based management platform for home service businesses. ServiceTitan’s platform helps service companies streamline operations, improve customer service, and grow revenue — bringing a fully operational modern technology infrastructure to an industry traditionally under-served by software. These monthly meetings are also sponsored by the Glendale Economic Development Corp. You can join their Meetup Page at meetup.com/tech-on-tap!
