Enjoying the warm summer air, it’s hard to believe that fall is right around the corner. But can you believe that we’re only a month and a half away from the MVCCC’s world famous Oktoberfest? For long time residents of the area, our Oktoberfest needs no introduction. It’s a day jam packed with entertainment, rides, music, great food, souvenirs, and more. Honolulu Avenue swells up with thousands of people from all around the region who come to see the Oktoberfest. Last year we had over 30,000 people attend the Oktoberfest. We are expecting even more this year. If you’re a business looking to get seen by thousands of new customers, Oktoberfest is the perfect place to do it. Become a sponsor for our Oktoberfest and have your business name and logo seen by thousands. We have a wide pricing structure that will accommodate most any budget. Call Ted at the MVCCC office for more details on this advertising opportunity. Our Foothills Community Expo is almost here, too. The Expo (held in collaboration with the La Cañada and Crescenta Valley chambers of commerce as well as the Verdugo Hills Hospital) is celebrating its tenth year promoting our local businesses to the community. Spaces are still available for businesses interested in joining. Please call the MVCCC or one of the above named chambers of commerce to find out more details on how you can participate. This year we will have the return of a popular community service at the Expo. SCORE, Counselors to America’s Small Businesses, will bring a mobile shredding truck to the Expo. Residents and businesses can bring unneeded documents (up to seven boxes per attendee) to be shredded while you watch at no extra charge. The SCORE/RSI shred truck will be in the physicians’ parking lot at Verdugo Hills Hospital during the Foothills Community Expo from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 8. For more information on this service, please contact Dick Mader from SCORE at (818) 395-7073. Be it great food, fun events, or unique shopping trips, make Montrose your destination.
