Halloween Open House at Mountain Rose Gifts!

It’s hard to believe but cool fall nights are coming and Halloween is only two months away. The popularity of this holiday keeps growing as do the number of people who decorate their homes in anticipation of it. It’s all about the black and orange, something a little spooky, and pumpkins that give your home a cozy look and feel. Mountain Rose Gifts is ready with gourmet Halloween décor that you won’t find in the chains. Friday, Sept. 4 is their 16th Annual Fall Open House that traditionally takes place on Labor Day weekend. Fresh apple cider and cinnamon cookies will be served and the store will be open ‘til 7. Chock full of the latest Halloween goodies, phase two will be introduced on the 4th. In addition to all the collectables they are known for they will unveiling a life size magnificent Halloween movie character the likes of which you’ve never seen. Fall Art Show at White’s Gallery!

Speaking of kicking off fall, White’s Gallery will be celebrating with a Fall Art Show that starts Sept. 1 and goes through the 30th. The kick-off supports the Verdugo Hills Art Association and takes place with an artists’ reception Saturday, Sept. 5 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Local art, music, light food and wine will enhance their exhibit of delightfully captivating fine art. Around town our “Fall In Love With Montrose” banners are up and the Montrose gardens transformation will be starting this week. The City of Glendale has big plans to enhance what used to be the grassy areas with colorful drought-tolerant plants, shrubs, grasses and boulders. We are excited to watch the change take place.
