“OUR BUSINESS IS YOUR BUSINESS”
We’ve Been Busy … and There’s More to Come!
Several months ago, smack in the middle of business and event closures, the Crescenta Valley Chamber of Commerce made the decision to “roll the dice” and proceed with scheduling our Chamber activities. While there was always the possibility of last minute cancellations due to pandemic restrictions by the Los Angeles County Health Dept., we managed to pull off a very successful online auction in June; conduct a June ribbon cutting/grand opening congratulations for Tawna Hutchinson and her PIT-FIT fitness studio; support and assist the CV Fireworks Association with its amazing 4th of July fireworks display at CV High School; return with an early August first mixer of the year hosted by Alissa and Eric Hwang at their beautiful Montrose restaurant, Alissa’s Ocean View Bar and Grill … and what a great time we had; and then, the following week, “tee off” our annual Scholarship Golf Tournament at Scholl Canyon Golf Course supporting local students and The Desi Geestman Foundation (“touching the lives of kids with cancer”).
That might have been enough but why hold back? Coming up on Saturday, Sept. 18 is our Hometown Country Fair at CV Park. It is one of the biggest community events of the year. Title sponsors include Supervisor Kathryn Barger, the Early Rodders classic cars, and Ace Hardware of La Crescenta; major sponsors the YMCA of the Foothills, USC Verdugo Hills Hospital, and J’s Maintenance. The Fair is an amazing event … live music throughout the day, a children’s petting zoo, a pie-eating contest, Pasadena Humane Society dog adoptions, dog parade, food trucks with amazing offerings, numerous booths of exhibitors and vendors, YMCA of the Foothills spin cycle demonstrations, bounce rides for the kids, Rosemont Middle School Cheer Team, over 50 classic cars and hot rods on display by the Early Rodders, and even Supervisor Barger’s live appearance! It’s going to be a fun time that you won’t want to miss. There are still opportunities for exhibitors and vendors to grab booth space. Contact me at the Chamber office at (818) 248-4957 or info@crescentavalleychamber.org.
And we’re still not finished. We have plans for two additional mixers in October/November (locations and dates still in the planning stage) and a 5K Pumpkin Fitness Run is scheduled for runners in all categories on Saturday, Oct. 30 at CV Park.
The purpose of the CV Chamber of Commerce and our activities is to support our Crescenta Valley community and the Chamber business membership. One of those Chamber members is Pure Interval Training Fitness, located at 3115 Foothill Blvd. (just east of Pennsylvania Avenue). Owner Tawna Hutchinson has created a state-of-the-art facility offering 24/7 fitness training sessions for all levels and ages. PIT-FIT offers individual and/or group sessions designed to fit your needs. Fitness and your health are important. Don’t delay another day … check them out at www.PIT-FIT.com.
