These firemen: I can’t say enough about the job they are doing out there and there are no words to express the gratitude everyone feels for them. Is there something bigger than “Thank you?” If so, they got it…
Honoring America on 9/11…As the eighth anniversary is upon us, the plan is in the works for everyone to display an American flag outside their home, apartment, business, car or wherever you can place one. Let’s honor those who have served, those serving and the ones who lost their lives in one of our country’s worst tragedies.
The Artwalk…I hope you had a chance to walk down Honolulu Avenue last Saturday and saw all the beautiful art work being displayed. This event keeps growing as artists love to be in Montrose. We love having them here, too, as it helps promote business in town. With these tough economic times we all need to pull together and help each other.
Our Foothills Community Business Expo on Sept. 9 was very successful. Just an FYI: If you’re a business and belong to the Chamber (any of the three) and want to exhibit your business, this is the place. To make sure you get in, send your registration in early. This event is always a sell out and we get calls up until the day of, so keep in mind that this event is held in early September each year.
The Chamber thanks New Moon Restaurant for their contribution of food provided at the Expo. We appreciate the support they have shown us. Please join us at the end of the month for our Oktoberfest kick off mixer. It is being held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 30 at Citibank. Citibank is located at 2350 Honolulu Ave. in Montrose. Come by and get in the Oktoberfest spirit.
On Saturday, “Oktoberfest” 3 we celebrate our 32nd year of the most anticipated community event in town. Lots of fun things are planned for the kids and even for the dog. There will be entertainment all throughout the day and evening. Plan on signing up for the “Hot Dog Contest” and don’t forget the “Stein Holding Contest.”
Don’t be shy – sign up and be a part of this celebration.
