Our own Charles Beatty has lived in the community for over 60 years and been involved in the community in many different arenas. He is up for reelection with the C V Water District. Charles works hard at whatever he takes on and is very concerned with water conservation. The board is happy to report that water usage is down 20% based on a five year average from 2005 to 2009 and 15% down from 2008 to 2009.

Saturday,  “Oktoberfest” 3 – This is the 32nd year of the most anticipated community event in town. We open at noon and go until 11 p.m. Bring your family and tell your friends. Beginning in the Main Stage area at 3:30 p.m. is the Lil Master and Lil Miss Contest and the Best Dressed Dog Contest. Sign up for the “Hot Dog Contest” sponsored by Schreiner’s Fine Sausages (8 p.m.) and at 7:30 p.m. is the  “Stein Holding Contest.”
Tuesday, October 6 – Glendale Business Super Mixer at Oakmont Country Club, 3100 Country Club Drive in Glendale is hosted by many civic organizations. This is a great networking opportunity and the cost is only $15, so plan now to attend.
