Oktoberfest is this Saturday, Oct. 1 in Montrose from noon to 11 p.m. Everyone knows that shopping local and supporting your local community is one of the greatest ways you can help the local economy. That is why the theme of our 34th Annual Oktoberfest is “Keeping it Local:” local bands/local acts/local fare/local fun!

The Beer Garden Stage features Title Wave with Mike Perry and EWA, “N Style Entertainment DJ Tazman and co-emcee Mike Perry, D’Oberlanders and Northern Strangers. On the New Rocktoberfest Stage there are Gigawatts, Crescenta Valley kids; Hit And Run, local CV High School students; the Christopher Brothers, La Cañada band; and FM Radio, a Tujunga band.
Local Acts Grayson’s Tune Town, Revolution Dance Center, Palpitating Panthers, Vonder Haas Center, Ying Jow Pai, USA Martial Arts and Fred Villaris Live Action Martial Arts.
Local Fare We will have bratwurst, sauerkraut and potato salad from Schreiner’s Fine Sausages, strudel, churros and brownies from Montrose Bakery and caramel apples, chocolate dipped apples and nuts from Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. We will also have roasted peanuts from a local vendor and various carnival snacks.
Local Fun Of course, rides and games for the kids, souvenirs galore, best Bavarian dressed dog contest, lil’ Miss Oktoberfest and lil’ master contest, stein holding contest, hot dog eating contest, face painters, henna and airbrush tattoo artists and Bavarian picture taking booth!
Last, but not least, local sponsors without which this event would not be possible. Many thanks to Ace Beverage, Montrose Travel, AARP/Walgreens Wellness Tour, Glendale News Press/L.A.
