NEWS FROM THE MONTROSE-VERDUGO CITY CHAMBER

“Fall” into Montrose…

It is officially fall and along with it comes one of Montrose’s favorite annual events … join us for our 44th Annual Montrose Oktoberfest on Saturday!

The 44th Annual Montrose Oktoberfest will have its usual notable delights: brats, german beer, pretzels, games and rides, contests (Mr./Mrs. Oktoberfest, Lil Mr./Lil Miss Oktoberfest and stein holding), and live entertainment (Past Action Heroes, Honest Family Outlaws, The Mary Dyer Band and The German American Brass Band, to name a few); but we will also be featuring a few new delights! This year, guests can also look forward to enjoying Bud Light Seltzers (black cherry and mango flavors), purchasing Montrose Oktoberfest bucket hats, and skipping long ticket lines by pre-purchasing food/beverage/ride tickets online before the event (online ticket redemption booth located in front of Coffeebean, visit bit.ly/OKTOTIX to pre-purchase). The sun is expected to be out, perfect for some beer and brats. See you there this Saturday, Oct. 7 from noon to 10 p.m. Free entry!

This year we are also celebrating our 100th anniversary at the La Cañada Flintridge Country Club on Oct. 18 at 6 p.m. Join us in celebrating this once-in-a-century milestone and congratulating this year’s Community Award winners:

Business of the Year: S.I.G. Property Management; Community Organization of the Year: YMCA of the Foothills; Frank Roberts Award: Mike Perry; Educator of the Year: Nick Doom of Clark Magnet HS; Chris Waldheim’s Oktoberfest Volunteer of the Year: Berkshire Hathaway Home Services Crest Real Estate; Volunteer of the Year: Steve Pierce; Beautification Award: Gus and Andy’s; President’s Award: TBA that evening; Special Recognition: Glendale Area Schools Credit Union; Centennial Award: TBA that evening.

Dinner tickets are $85 and the last day to register is Oct. 10. No tickets will be sold at the door. There will be live music provided by the CVHS jazz combo band and a fun photo booth provided by MVCC member Captured Celebrations. Everyone is welcome to join this grand celebration; we hope to see all of Montrose there!
