Oktoberfest 2014 Thank You, Volunteers & Sponsors
We hope that everyone enjoyed our Oktoberfest this past Saturday! It was a hot day, but it was a fun day. We had some new rides at the event, some new bands that performed and a lot of community involvement. Bobby Stevens and the Gypsy Band, Revolution Dance Center, Helen’s Dance Studio, Masters Taekwondo, CV Church, the German immersion students from Benjamin Franklin Elementary in Glendale, Northern Strangers, Flights Over Phoenix, Eli Locke, FM Radio and DJ Ernie Muraoka were all local community residents, businesses and schools whose performances were enjoyed by all.
Past Action Heroes and Horny Toads, both from Southern California, were new additions to Oktoberfest and both were great. We really wanted this event to reflect the community and to be for the community. We kept our traditional Oktoberfest dancers and the Southern California German American Brass Band and added a strolling accordion player. We served brats from Montrose’s own Schreiner’s Fine Sausages and brought in three authentic German beers to keep the German traditions alive.
We want to say thank you to all of our sponsors and volunteers without whom we couldn’t put on this event!
