‘Tis the season to be spooky

T

here is nothing quite like the Montrose Shopping Park when it comes to enjoying Halloween “family-friendly” style. So many of our “one-of-a-kind” stores get in on the act with very creative window displays and unique merchandise. Last week I walked the whole park, snapping pics and popping in, to see what was different to buy for Halloween. It was so much fun and good exercise, too. Do you want to try something that you can’t do anywhere else? Then put on your comfy shoes, grab a tote bag and let’s go shopping!

We’ll start at the Montrose Candy Co. where you can pick up the cutest little wrapped gifts for your friends. They have these candy-corn lollipops for 30 cents that I have never seen before, along with petite bags of fresh taffy in Halloween colors, tied with spook ribbon, and decorated with their logo for only $2.25. I think my heart would beat a little faster if someone gave me these. So cute! As you head up the street, Revelation Tops has a gourmet selection of orange and black Halloween-theme tees – a fun way to celebrate the season! Now it’s time to stop at Paradis and get some homemade pumpkin pie ice cream. I tried it the other day and, yes! it tastes just like pumpkin pie. Come to think of it, this was the first time in my life I had ever had pumpkin pie ice cream. How about you?

If the candy and the ice cream doesn’t give you enough of a sugar rush, surely Montrose Bakery will! I am truly amazed at the creations Henry comes up with! This man has talent! The cupcakes pictured here are only $1.25! They have orange icing, chocolate sprinkles, and a cat! Now where else but in Montrose can you get such a thing at this price? What a wonderful hostess gift – if you can keep from eating them yourself! Right next to the cupcakes was this incredible cake, decorated and shaped like a jack-o-lantern. That cake would be the star of your Halloween party when set on a platter in the center of the table. Now I need to walk off some of these goodies in search of more Halloween. I went out the door and headed right (west) towards The Wine Cave. I was stopped in my tracks by their extremely professional Halloween decorations. You must pop in and take a look. It sure would be fun to go there at night, have Scott pour you a glass of some exotic wine, and soak up the atmosphere of the lit decorations before you head out to dinner. By the way, The Wine Cave invites you to a Halloween costume party on Saturday, Oct. 30 at 6:00 p.m. They will be serving reserve wines. Classy!

I’m out of space so I’ll continue my Halloween Tour next week. In the meantime, check out our blog at www.shopmontrose.com for my Halloween pics of these unique stores and more. Thanks for reading and for shopping the one-of-a-kind boutiques, salons, and cafes in The Montrose Shopping Park!
