Finding value through serving

“Everybody can be great because anybody can serve. You don’t have to have a college degree to serve. You don’t have to make your subject and your verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace, a soul generated by love.”    ”

Martin Luther King Jr.

And the results are in! Every year the Crescenta Valley Chamber of Commerce honors those who have improved the quality of life in our community.  We sincerely want to congratulate the following individuals that definitely have a heart full of grace and a soul generated by love: Man of the Year Steve Pierce; Woman of the Year Rita Even; Volunteer of the Year Steve Goldsworthy; Organization of the Year Montrose Search and Rescue; Beautification Award for La Crescenta Library; Business of the Year goes to The Trophy Shoppe; Student of the Year Yoon Lee; Educator of the Year Lisa Reed. The heroes that we are honoring from our law enforcement and fire departments are Agent Charlton Vidal of the Glendale PD, Deputy Randy Forney of the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department, and Captain David Inman of L.A. County Fire and Officer Andre Primeaux of the California Highway Patrol. All of whom are most deserving for all the fantastic things they do for our community.

On Thursday, Nov. 5 we will be honoring these individuals at a banquet at the Angeles National Golf Club at 9401 Foothill Blvd. in Sunland. Join us for this special occasion and to honor these upstanding individuals. Please call the Chamber office by Oct. 28 to reserve your spot at the banquet. Dinner cost is $40 per person and you may also “sponsor” another dinner or table to help pay the costs for the award recipients who are attending at no charge. This is a great way to thank these people for all the good work they do for our community. Also available are advertisements in the program which is another great way to say thank you.

We hope you join us at the banquet which is also a great way to see the new banquet facilities at the newly opened Angeles National Golf Club. If you have never been to Angeles National Golf Club, the view alone is worth the price of admission. It is a gorgeous club with never ending views of the beautiful mountain landscape. They are also open to the public for breakfast, lunch and dinner and have special events on Friday evenings, including magic, live jazz and even a costume contest on Friday, Oct 30.

Remember, everybody can be great because anybody can serve.  Come and see how the CV Chamber can help or come and congratulate those that serve. Important dates: Nov 5 Recognition Banquet at Angeles Golf Club; Nov. 11 – Taste in the Foothills at the Marketplace.
