Enjoy the Harvest in Montrose this Weekend!
Is it just me or are you feeling that Halloween just flew by this year? We hope those of you who got to attend Spooktacular last night had a magical, memorable time. By the way, did you get to check out the stores’ Halloween window displays? The CV Weekly did and has awarded certificates to the following stores: Congratulations to Paradise Tan for Most Eye-catching/Drive by Appeal, Twigs & Things for most Classic window, Critters for most Spooky Halloween theme, Mountain Rose Gifts for most Favorite Single Piece, Pattye’s Closet for Best Use of Merchandise, and Montrose Candy for most Kid-Friendly. Thanks CV Weekly for taking the time to do this!
Now here it is Nov. 1 and the very beginning of one of the most exciting seasons of the year here in the Montrose Shopping Park. We just seem to go from one party to the next. So what’s in store for this weekend? The word is getting out about Shop & Dine Friday. What a great way to start your weekend! In the evening, stroll our streets as you shop and listen to live musical trios as they entertain you with jazz, mellow classics, and salsa music. When you have worked up an appetite, grab a seat in one of many cafes and check out the specials.
This Saturday marks another special tradition to kick off the beginning of the Christmas season. Once again Victori-Ana and Mountain Rose Gifts have been closed with their windows papered all week as they set up for their annual Saturday Christmas Open House. The stores are in the process of being transformed into winter wonderlands and the display windows will be unveiled to the public as early as Friday night. Oh boy!
So we have Friday and Saturday covered. How about Sunday? It’s a perfect time to visit our weekly Harvest Market and see what’s new. Market Manager Mark Sheridan has done it again with new, must try food purveyors. How long has it been since you have had a really good fresh, homemade pickle? Jake & Gunner is a local find that specializes in all things pickle and pickled. Also watch for Sweet Lou’s Herbs & Spices with an outstanding selection of mixes and classic rubs.
In the produce department, Fernando’s Mejool dates are back. High desert peaches are sweet and ready. It’s apple, pear and avocado time too. Soledad goat cheese has returned with a variety of just made flavors and there’s nothing like getting it fresh. A nice addition to our international food court is homemade crepes! It’s almost as fun to watch them being made before your very eyes as it is to eat them.
We look forward to seeing you in the Montrose Shopping Park and thank you for continuing to shop local.
