Congratulations and Goodbye!
It is a pleasure to announce our annual awards recognition banquet recipients. The Chamber selects the businesses, organizations and individuals who have gone above and beyond to help improve the quality of life here in the Crescenta Valley. This year’s awardees are: Business of the year: Bonner’s Party Rentals, Woman of the Year: Joanna Linkhorst, Man of the Year: Charly Shelton, Volunteer of the Year: Cindy Charles, Organization of the Year: Crescenta Valley Lions Club, Educator of the Year: Shawn Zargarian, Student of the Year: Mia Lewis, Beautification Award: Saint Luke’s of the Mountains. We are also recognizing our first responders and law enforcement personnel. Firefighter of the Year: Grant Grunbaum, Glendale Police Department: Justin Darby, California Highway Patrol: Phillip Cooper, and LA County Sheriff: Rodger Burt. We also have special awards the American Legion/VFW and a special President’s Award for Mike Baldwin. Congratulations to all of the above and thank you for your service to the community.
Tickets are available to the annual recognition banquet. It’s being held on Thursday, Nov. 14 at the Oakmont Country Club, 3100 Country Club Drive in Glendale 91208. Social is at 6 p.m., dinner is at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $60 per person. Call us at the chamber to make a reservation!
The Chamber will be holding a special ribbon-cutting on Thursday evening, Nov. 7 at 6 p.m. at Oakmont Endodontics located at 3600 N. Verdugo Road, Suite 207.
On Saturday, Nov. 9 at 9 a.m. the American Legion/VFW will be celebrating the American Legion’s 100 years of service at Verdugo Hills Memorial Hall, 4011 La Crescenta Ave. Breakfast is served and donations are appreciated. On Veteran’s Day, Monday, Nov. 11 at 11 a.m. the American Legion/VFW will be conducting a special ceremony at Two Strike Park honoring all veterans. The public is invited to come and show your appreciation for our vets.
A special goodbye is extended to the chamber’s executive director, Mr. Matt Allen. We thank him for his excellent service to the Chamber and our community and wish him the very best in whatever he pursues. Thank you, Matt.
