Helping You to Succeed
“And will you succeed? Yes! You will indeed! (98 and 3/4 percent guaranteed).” Dr. Seuss
We have a business member whose only goal is to help you succeed. Richard Liss of The Entrepreneur’s Source is a business ownership coach and helps people find the right business for those who are in a career transition.
The Entrepreneur’s Source was founded by Terry Powell, their CEO. He recognized that 70% of the population has a strong desire to be self-sufficient, but only a small number actually find a way to make it happen. Too many people give up on their dreams too soon when education and guidance could show them the way to success. The Entrepreneur’s Source is ranked among the top consulting franchises in the country by Entrepreneur Magazine.
Their motto is, “Your success is our only business.” They use a time-tested process to help generate success for their clients.
I met with Richard and asked him the following questions:
How long have you owned this business? I have owned The Entrepreneur’s Source for three years.
What is your specialty? My clients are people who always dreamed of self-employment or people who, because of this “new career economy” are “forced entrepreneurs.” I learn about my client’s goals, needs and wants, and then I match them up with business models that will help them reach those goals.
What do you like most about what you do? The fact that every client is different. I also like the “ah ha” moments. I like getting my clients to look outside the box. I like to learn about my client’s income, lifestyle, wealth and equity goals, and then present business models that will help them reach those goals.
What sets you apart from your competition? My job is taking care of my clients’ fear. Looking into a new career or business ownership opportunity is a fear producing exercise. I build rapport with my clients by asking the right questions and then directing them to find the answers to their concerns.
What is your biggest challenge? Getting people to understand that a lot of jobs and industries are gone and not coming back. The job market is tough. Most recessions have been turned around by small business. The other side this is that business ownership is not for everybody. I ask the right questions in order to have my clients understand the positives and negatives.
Who has been your favorite client? I have worked with many. I have placed a client who never thought of owning a business (both parents are executives with the United Auto Workers Union – great quote: “Business owners are the enemy”), to a guy who sold his 444 employee business and is bored and wants to start something new.
