Rest Farmhouse Inspired Grand Opening & Ribbon Cutting

There’s a new place in town if you haven’t heard and you are invited to discover it!

This Saturday, Nov. 12 Rest Farmhouse Inspired located at 2420 Honolulu Ave. in Montrose is having an open house from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 2 p.m. Rest Farmhouse Inspired is a unique culinary experience offering a rustic French café experience, professional chef services and a gourmet kitchen supply store for the most discriminating of clients. Rest Farmhouse Inspired is the realization of a life-long passion for food, family and fellowship by co-owners Kristina Evans and Theresa Rosette. They truly serve farm-to-table food that is seasonally based and fresh to order. Drawing on their culinary, business and creative backgrounds, Rest Farmhouse Inspired uses the highest quality local, fresh and organic ingredients in their café menu and custom chef services. Their local farms include Arreola Farm, Autonomy Farms, Country Fresh Herbs, Don Betos, Nicholas Family Farms and Sunrise Organic Farms. On Saturday you will have a chance to sample and buy many of their delicious offerings. At the grand opening they will be serving their full seasonal menu including sweet potato quiche, It’s Almost Thanksgiving sandwich, autumn salad with apple vinaigrette, pumpkin latte (made from real roasted pumpkin in house), season chai tea and much more. Come in for breakfast and you can order one of their chef’s daily specials, gluten-free English muffin topped with in-house cured bacon and cage-free eggs or paleo pancakes. Or try their pear cardamom muffin or freshly made jam on a scone. Yum! FYI, during the month of November when you buy a coffee you get a free pastry to enjoy with it!

On Saturday throughout the day they will be offering samples of many of their menu items for you to try as well as olive oil and balsamic vinegar tastings. They will also have giveaway opportunities every hour. The gifts will come from their in-house store and include candles, handmade soaps, teas, coffee, linens, tableware, lotions and Simon Pierce glassware items.

Some quick Farmhouse facts: All food and coffees are made in-house and certified organic; they have custom designed certified organic linens designed by Kristina and Theresa (co-owners); they have a gourmet kitchen store providing unique culinary products. Co-owner and executive chef Kristina Evans has been a personal chef and caterer for more than a decade. Chef Kristina found early in her career that her true passion is in the culinary arts and hospitality. Kristina’s menu planning results from the strong relationships she has developed with local farmers and food artisans. Varying with the seasons, her food creations are exciting and original; she draws heavily on French techniques and food styling. She leads long-standing classes at the Urban Homestead in Pasadena and she is the author of a high school-level curriculum on French regional cooking. Co-owner and chef Theresa Rosette has a rich culinary history of closely held family recipes that have been passed down for generations from her and her husband’s combined Southern Italian (Naples) and “Southern Belle” (Alabama) heritage.

Beyond her culinary skills, Theresa Rosette is one of a few chefs on planet Earth to have her hardware designs on the surface of another planet. Theresa is a successful aerospace engineer (yes, rocket scientist) who has worked at both NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center and the Jet Propulsion Laboratory and worked on the Mars Science Laboratory Curiosity Rover Mission. Out of this world. Please stop by on Saturday for the grand opening and enjoy!
