NEWS FROM THE CVCOC

As the year draws to a close (it’s hard to believe we’re already making plans for Thanksgiving and Christmas) the CV Chamber is re-dedicating itself to our community. Whether attending community events, like the Montrose Christmas Parade, or hosting them, like the Hometown Country Fair, the board members of the CV Chamber want to let you know we have rolled up our sleeves and are ready to go to work for you.

In addition to hosting regular mixers that provide the chance for local businesses (and residents) to get to know each other, the CV Chamber attends monthly legislative meetings. These meetings are attended by members of other chambers, the GUSD and law enforcement, among others. Not only is our representative able to share concerns of our membership but she is also able to collect information that she brings to the chamber board.

Today, Thursday, Nov. 14 is election day for the CV Chamber board. We invite our members to stop by the offices of the CV Weekly (which shares facilities with the CV Chamber of Commerce), 3800 La Crescenta Ave. #206 in La Crescenta, to cast a ballot before 5 p.m. for those running for office. Some of these names may be familiar: me as president, Robert Manciero as vice president, Molly Shelton as treasurer and Dwight Sityar as honorary mayor. Wanted is a new secretary to attend the meetings and take minutes.

In addition we have two board members – Win Saw and Christine Benitez – who have stepped off the board and one – Rev. Beverly Craig – who recently passed away. In addition to two board members who have converted to advisor positions, we have many seats on the board that need be filled. Voting continues from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Sadler Hall, 2563 Foothill Blvd. (at the corner of Rosemont Avenue). I encourage members to stop by and cast their ballot.

Anyone interested in being part of this dynamic team is asked to please call us at (818) 248-4957.

Restokleen at 3600 Foothill Blvd. in La Crescenta hosted our October mixer. Restokleen offers a variety of services including restoration services relating to fire damage, flood damage and water damage. It also offers sewage cleanup services. It was crowded at the offices of Restokleen – and I’m sure the delicious food and drink played a part! Thank you to the team at Restokleen for hosting our mixer.

On Tuesday night, the YMCA of the Foothills was the site of our most recent mixer. Hosted by Prom Plus, the outgoing officers of this illustrious group were given a fond farewell and the new board was introduced. Thank you to Prom Plus for hosting this mixer!
