So Many Things to be Thankful For …
“As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.”
John Fitzgerald Kennedy
Are you ready for the hustle and bustle that the holiday season normally brings? The long lines, various trips to the mall, cooking, cleaning, endless holiday parties and all the other various distractions that zap your joy and peace? Try something new this year. Try to have an attitude of gratitude.
According to a study done in Psychology Today, having a sense of gratitude can be uplifting to not only yourself, but to those around you. It also has some wonderful health benefits. Here’s a list of a few things to be thankful for about being thankful: a stronger immune system, heightened state of well-being with positive emotional and interpersonal benefits, increase in overall happiness, ability to cope better with stress, improvement in your ability to develop and maintain healthy relationships and reduction in your risk of developing cardiovascular disease or depression.
So the next time you feel stressed, or impatient or angry, remember to look around and find all the wonderful things that you can be thankful for and give yourself the gift of health at the same time!
