One business that does more than just make money is April Ray Salon. They help make people beautiful with pretty new hairdos while always contributing to the community by being involved and hosting mixers. We hope you join us at our December mixer at their gorgeous salon. April Ray Salon is a unique hair studio located at 2032 Thompson Ct. #8 in Montrose and offers four very talented stylists to fit all your hair needs.
At April Ray Salon, you can enjoy their beautiful courtyard, a fresh cup of coffee, good music, good company, and, most importantly, a good haircut, color and style. All of their hair stylists have many years of experience and the education to take care of all your hair needs. For an appointment, please contact April Ray at (818) 468-4078.
A great time to meet these hair stylists will be at our business mixer on Dec. 8 from 6-8 p.m. It will be a wonderful mixer in a beautiful location. It will also help you get into the holiday spirit as we will have a few of our members there with some beautiful Christmas gifts that you can buy for your loved ones.
Did you know that the Fire House is open for business? The Fire House is a place for all high school students to meet, do their homework, play some games, mingle and have fun. It is open from 6-9 p.m. every Tuesday and is free of charge. Although it is located on the grounds of St. Luke’s Church, 2563 Foothill Blvd., the Tuesday night gatherings are non-religious. Run strictly by volunteers, most from the CV Drug and Alcohol Prevention Coalition, the Fire House is looking for assistance to feed the hungry students. If any restaurant or individuals could donate food or grocery store gift cards, they would greatly appreciate it. The Fire House wants to thank La Cañada Imports for their donation, feeding the children last Tuesday. They are also looking for adults with interesting professions who could come to the Fire House to share their knowledge with the students. Please contact Mary O’Keefe at (818) 248-2740 or the CV Chamber for more information.
The Fire House is also part of the Holiday Tour of Homes presented by the Crescenta Valley High School Prom Plus Committee. The Holiday Tour of Homes (and the Fire House) is on Dec. 11 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is a $25 donation. Your support benefits Prom Plus, a safe, supervised, drug and alcohol free alternative to unsupervised post-prom activities. Tickets and more information are available at the chamber office.
