The Montrose-Verdugo City Chamber of Commerce would like to thank Glendale City Council members Laura Freidman and Ara Najarian for speaking in Montrose last week and taking questions from the community. This was a very informative meeting and we learned a lot about what is happening in Glendale and particularly in the Montrose area. If you missed the meeting, don’t worry – we videotaped it and have a link available on our website, www.montrosechamber.org, for you to watch it.     Councilmembers really enjoyed coming up to the area and have made a commitment to come back. I have monthly meetings with Laura Friedman and I continue to bring the needs of the community and businesses to her and we are seeing progress toward making positive changes in the area. If you have any questions or concerns, the councilmembers welcome your comments. You can always reach them by email: LFriedman@ci.glendale.ca.us and ANajarian@ci.glendale.ca.us.

Please help us support our new local business, the Village Vintage Shoppe, by joining us for a ribbon cutting tomorrow, Friday, Dec. 7 at noon. They are located at 3821 Ocean View Blvd. in Montrose. The owner Eileen has the store set up beautifully and carries a variety of antiques so you will be sure to find something you would fancy. The store specializes in antique jewelry and she has an abundance of items to choose from just in time for Christmas. Light refreshments will be served so you don’t have to skip your lunch. Please stop by. We would love to see you there.
