A Place Around Town Where You Can Enjoy Life
“No man is a failure who is enjoying life.” William Feather
‘Tis the season for merriment and laughter and I hope you are enjoying life with family and friends. One local place you can hang out to relax and enjoy sports, refreshments and good food is Leo’s All Star Sports Bar & Grill.
Leo’s is an upscale sports bar with a casual environment and a neighborhood feel where everyone loves to visit, relax, and watch sports. The owners Leo and Leslie Lesh are paramount to the Crescenta Valley. Leslie is the current president of the CV Chamber and Leo is the current president of the Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Support Group. This is just a small portion of what they do in volunteering their time to help this community. I had a little Q & A with Leslie.
How long have you owned Leo’s All Star Sports Bar & Grill? We opened Leo’s All-Star in Dec 2003.
What are you known for or what is your specialty? I believe we are probably mostly known for our hot wings and Louisiana clam chowder.
What do you like most about what you do? For me, I thoroughly enjoy attending the events I help to organize. I really love the social end of it. I enjoy the charity fundraisers that I am involved in because I get to meet new people that never heard of Leo’s All-Star. I have learned that you can never stop promoting your business, ever.
Lastly, I really like putting together new promotions and getting it out to the public on our website or Facebook.
What continues to set you apart from your competition? Leo’s has something for everyone. We have a full restaurant, almost every sporting event on 32 HDTVs, karaoke, live entertainment and many special events. No one even knows the amount of permits I have for all of these things (lol).
What is your biggest challenge? My biggest challenge is owning a restaurant in this economy, during this recession. Keeping people coming in when times are tough is always a challenge.
What has been something fun that has happened to you as a business owner or the coolest event at Leo’s? One of the most special things that happened to me was being recognized in the Top Women of Business Extraordinaire issue of Business Life Magazine. We have also had so many very cool events at Leo’s. We have had famous people like Tom Arnold doing speed dating, Dizzy Reed from Guns N Roses playing in a band, and sporting teams like the Clipper Girls, the L.A. Kings mascot and girls, and L.A. Temptation women football leagues hosting parties at Leo’s for our fans!
Please visit one of the chamber events to meet Leslie in person or better yet have lunch at Leo’s All Star Sports Bar & Grill and taste their famous Louisiana clam chowder. Leo’s is located at 2941 Honolulu Ave. in La Crescenta or you can call (818) 249-5858.
Important chamber dates: Jan. 12 – Installation luncheon; Jan 21 – Recycling event; Feb. 8 – Business mixer at Leon Bakery.
