Jan. 30

2300 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Cañada Flintridge, deputies responded to a commercial burglary. An employee reported that he had been the last employee to leave the business on Jan. 30. He made certain the doors were locked prior to leaving. On Jan. 31 he returned to find the back door broken, the interior of the business ransacked and a cash drawer stripped off a desk. Video surveillance revealed a man wearing a hooded sweatshirt, gloves and jeans walking into the office. He forcibly removed the cash drawer from under the desk, along with a black safe. He struck it many times in an attempt to open it. Cash was reported stolen.

The commercial burglary occurred at 11:47 p.m.

Jan. 29

3100 block of Alabama Street in La Crescenta, a resident reported hearing the sound of power tools outside his home. When he looked out the window he saw a silver, older model Toyota sedan parked next to his neighbor’s vehicle. He reported seeing a female in the driver’s seat of the Toyota and she was yelling at someone to “hurry up.” The resident then heard the clinking sound as if metal was hitting the ground.

He then saw an unknown suspect grab a metal object and place it into the Toyota. He got into the vehicle and drove it away. It was discovered his neighbor’s catalytic converter had been stolen from his vehicle.

The incident occurred at 4:35 a.m.

Jan. 28

5100 block of Princess Anne Road in La Cañada Flintridge, deputies responded to a call concerning a possible burglary. A resident reported that he was home and walked down the stairs to the basement when he heard a noise coming from upstairs. He did not think anything of the noise and continued going into the basement. When he walked upstairs to the second floor and entered the master bedroom he found it ransacked. He investigated and found the rear sliding glass door had been shattered. Nothing was reported stolen at the time.

The burglary occurred between 4 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

2400 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Crescenta, the tailgate of a truck was stolen from the vehicle overnight.

Jan. 25

2200 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Cañada Flintridge, a man reported that as he was waiting in line at a drive through restaurant he attempted to pass a car in front of him because it was not moving forward in the line. He pulled up next to the vehicle and the driver/suspect rolled down his window and began to yell at him in an aggressive tone. The driver/suspect than pulled up in front of the other car and proceeded to wait in line. He exited his vehicle and, with a large knife in his hand, walked up to the man’s vehicle window and continued to yell at him. The driver/suspect waived the knife around in a threatening manner.

The driver/suspect was described as a white male in his late 50s/early 60s with thinning hair. The man returned to his vehicle, ordered and left the area.

The incident occurred at 11:44 a.m.

Jan. 22

5000 block of Princess Anne Road in La Cañada Flintridge, deputies responded to a possible burglary. They found a glass door on the property had been shattered and several rooms had been ransacked. Nothing was reported stolen at the time.

The burglary occurred between Jan. 22 and Jan. 30.
