On April 13 at approximately 4 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Pioneer Drive responding to a male who was attempting to break into an occupied condo.
It was reported that the suspect, later identified as 52-year-old Kevin Sweet of Glendale, had gotten onto a balcony and was pounding on a sliding glass door. Officers were informed that Sweet tried to open the door, but it was locked. Dispatch was advised that Sweet picked up a chair from the balcony and raised it as though he was going to break the sliding glass door. As this occurred, officers were approaching and Sweet attempted to flee the scene on foot, but was quickly apprehended by responding officers.
Sweet was found to be on probation for robbery and was subsequently arrested for attempted burglary.
