It may be spring on the calendar, but in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios Hollywood, it’s prime time for the sweetest season of all: Butterbeer Season. Now through May 31, witches, wizards and muggles alike are invited to celebrate the iconic beverage and its ever-expanding menu of treats in a dedicated celebration that has become a fan-favorite tradition.

If you’ve never tasted Butterbeer before, imagine a creamy fusion of butterscotch and cream soda with a rich, foamy topping. It’s comfort in a cup and it has inspired a lineup of confections and drinks across every Universal theme park worldwide: from Warner Bros. Studio Tour in London to other Wizarding World locations around the globe. This year’s seasonal offerings at Universal Studios Hollywood feature a collection of returning favorites and a few all-new treats that are sure to satisfy even the most sugar-savvy Hogwarts alum.

Among the new standouts is the Butterbeer Cream Puff, a pastry filled with a thick custard-style butterbeer cream and topped with whipped cream and a cookie medallion. It’s unexpectedly hearty and leans more toward a breakfast pastry than a dessert, with caramel notes taking the lead. Another new addition is the Butterbeer Chocolate Bar, which brings more complexity than one might expect. Alongside the signature butterscotch flavor are hints of warm spices, reminiscent of holiday flavors like cinnamon and nutmeg. It’s a sleeper hit among the lineup – portable, unique and surprisingly layered.

Returning to the spotlight for the season is the much-loved Butterbeer Potted Cream, a rich, custardy dessert served in a charming glass jar. This one packs an intense flavor punch and remains a favorite among longtime fans. For a lighter touch, the Butterbeer Ice Lolly returns – chocolate-dipped and just sweet enough without overwhelming the palate, a nice contrast to the denser treats. And of course, there’s always the Butterbeer soft-serve from Florean Fortescue’s Ice Cream Parlour inside Honeyduke’s, which comes in a variety of flavors, though Butterbeer is the star for the season.

The celebration doesn’t stop at the snacks. A new commemorative gold souvenir stein joins the lineup for collectors, along with a wide array of Butterbeer-inspired merchandise including apparel, accessories and home goods – all in the signature honey-golden color palette.

Whether sipping cold Butterbeer from a golden stein, savoring a fudge square, or grabbing a chocolate bar to-go, Butterbeer Season adds a whole new level of magic to the park. It’s a flavor, a feeling, and now, a full-fledged holiday for Harry Potter fans and dessert lovers alike.
