PROGRAM ON ‘LIVING WITH MOUNTAIN LIONS’

The Crescenta Valley Sierra Club Group presents “Living with Mountain Lions” presented by Robin Parks on Tuesday, Nov. 12 at 7:30 p.m. at the La Crescenta Library.

Parks began volunteering at animal sanctuaries in California and elsewhere in 1999 where he first encountered captive mountain lions. This led him to the Mountain Lion Foundation where he has been a volunteer on many Mountain Lion Foundation projects. As a former 25-year career investigator for the Naval Criminal Investigative Service, retiring in 2004, he is very involved in reaching out to law enforcement agencies that are often the first responders to mountain lion incidents.

Residents in the San Gabriel Mountains region live in the range of the mountain lion and learn of encounters and know their range has been made less by encroaching development and freeways. Learning to live together is the lesson.

The program begins following news of conservation and outings. This is a free event and everyone is welcome. Refreshments will be served.

Please contact Wayne Fisher, program chair, for further information at (818) 353-4181.
