Jim and Fae Lumsden just had to take the CV Weekly along with them on a cruise to Hawaii and French Polynesia. Here is the Weekly in Bora Bora, one of many exotic ports, several of which were so small the ship could not enter and guests had to be tendered ashore.

One special stop was Fanning Island, actually just an atoll, 1,000 miles south of Hawaii. The island is only 6.5 x 9 miles across with a maximum elevation of 10 feet, home to about 2,500 residents. Must be exciting during big storms.

According to the Lumsdens, the beautiful part was that the roundtrip was out of San Diego – no flying!
