Le Salon de Musiques is a chamber music series performed in an intimate space without a stage or separation between the audience and the artists. It allows the audience to feel the purity and essence of the music associated with the vibrations of each instrument and the connection to each artist.
Celebrating its 10th season, Le Salon de Musiques on Jan. 12 brings a program for strings and piano by three genius Russian masters, Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff and Arensky.
Introduced by musicologist Dr. Kristi Brown-Montesano, it will be performed by five virtuosos consisting of Jessica Guideri and Ambroise Aubrun, violins, Jonathan Moerschel, viola, Michael Kaufman, cello, and Hyejin Kim, piano. The performance will be followed by a Q&A between the audience and the artists, with a French champagne reception and a high tea buffet catered by Patina.
The series is directed by French American concert pianist, CEO and artistic director Francois Chouchan.
The program includes P. Tchaikovsky, String Quartet No.3 in E Flat minor Op 30, S. Rachmaninoff, “Trio Elegiaque” No.1 in G minor and “Two Pieces” Op 2 for Cello & Piano, and A. Arensky, Piano Quintet in D Major Op 51.
Inspired by “Le Salon de Musique” of Queen Marie-Antoinette in Versailles and the “Schubertiades” created by Franz Schubert in Vienna,
Le Salon de Musiques – Masters Rediscovered is a unique musical experience like none other in Los Angeles. Attendees feel the essence of chamber music. By removing the stage and putting the artists next to the audience, each performance is a very personal and intimate experience.
Each concert is being performed on the fifth floor of the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion. An informal Q&A with the artists follows the performance with a gourmet buffet catered by Patina and French champagne. Large round tables are dressed where people can seat around, mingle with the artists, share their emotions, and meet new friends.
Tickets are *$95 for regular, and $45 for students. Special offers are proposed at LeSalondeMusiques.com.
