Jurassic Park Fan Event

By Charly SHELTON

Twenty-five years ago, life found a way. The definitive dinosaur movie of all time, “Jurassic Park,” was released on June 11, 1993 to wild critical acclaim, and has since spawned a franchise with ups (“Jurassic World”) and downs (“Jurassic Park II”). But with a new installment – “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom” – coming next month and the 25th anniversary upon us, it’s time to take a look back at the film that started it all.

This Friday, Saturday and Sunday, May 11-13, the Jurassic Park 25th anniversary celebration will roar to life at Universal Studios Hollywood, and guests are invited to be a part of this exclusive event. This first-ever themed anniversary celebration, created in partnership with Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment, is a separately ticketed event from the theme park that will take place after-hours. Space is limited and tickets for Friday and Saturday are already gone, with Sunday tickets available as of press time but going fast.

The immersive celebration will begin with a private screening of the film and the original trailer at Universal CityWalk’s all new Universal Cinema, which in and of itself is going to be great. Then the party moves over to the lower lot of the theme park for an exclusive after-hours party featuring unlimited access to all things Jurassic – from the acclaimed theme park ride to original props, including the gyrosphere from “Jurassic World,” to original dinosaur maquettes (models), costume displays and an interactive expo area, as well as live entertainment, themed food and merchandise, and an all-new Raptor Encounter experience and a talent panel featuring some of the artists who worked on the film. As if that weren’t enough, there is also a costume contest for anyone who wants to dress up as their favorite character or dinosaur.

Tickets are $69 for the fan event or $129 for the day/night combo admission to visit the Park during the day first.
