The free admission Glendale Noon Concerts series has returned to live performance at the sanctuary of Glendale City Church, 610 E. California Ave. in Glendale.

On July 17 from 12:10 p.m. to 12:40 p.m., the Glendale Noon Concerts will feature oboist Noah Breneman and pianist Miloš Veljković performing “Oboe Sonatina” by Grazyna Bacewicz and “Oboe Sonata” by Gustav Schreck.
Noah Breneman is a freelance oboist based in Los Angeles. He is currently principal oboe of the Reno Chamber Orchestra. Originally from Reading, Pennsylvania, Breneman attended The Pennsylvania State University, graduating magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in oboe performance. While at Penn State, Breneman won the Symphonic Wind Ensemble’s Concerto Competition in 2014, performing Eric Ewazen’s “Hold Fast Your Dreams.” In 2018, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue a master’s degree at the University of Southern California, which he completed in spring 2020 amidst the beginnings of the COVID-19 pandemic. While at USC, Breneman performed with The Santa Ana Winds, a woodwind quintet, which competed in the 2019 Plowman Chamber Music Competition. He was previously principal oboe of the American Youth Symphony.
Recent engagements include The Britt Festival Orchestra (English horn/oboe III) as well as The Reno Philharmonic and Chamber Orchestra of the South Bay (guest principal oboe). In addition to his career as an oboist, Breneman is also the music buyer for the LA Phil Store, where he curates the music selections for the retail stores at both Walt Disney Concert Hall and the Hollywood Bowl.
Miloš Veljković, a Serbian musician born in 1980, embarked on his musical journey at the age of 5. He received formal training at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade and furthered his education with a scholarship in Kristiansand, Norway. Throughout his career, Veljković has achieved remarkable success in both national and international competitions, captivating audiences across Europe with his performances of works by eminent composers from Serbia, Britain, Germany and the Netherlands.
After several years of teaching at the University of Kragujevac, Veljković relocated to Los Angeles in 2017 where he has since become a prominent figure in the classical music community. Collaborating with prestigious institutions such as the LA Phil, LA Opera and the Angeles Chorale, Veljković has demonstrated his versatility as a musician and educator. His involvement with academic communities at UCLA, AMDA, and USC further underscores his commitment to nurturing the next generation of musical talent.
Among his notable achievements, Veljković has served as the rehearsal pianist for productions including the Mesopotamian Opera’s rendition of Peter Hailey’s “Italian Lesson,” Jacaranda’s performance of Peter Knell’s and Stephanie Fleischman’s opera “Arkhipov” and the UCLA Stavros Niarchos Foundation Center for the Study of Hellenic Culture’s presentation of Theodosia Roussos’ “Polymnia.” Additionally, Veljković is an integral member of BAGRA Production, where he contributes as a producer and music composer, showcasing his diverse talents and unwavering dedication to the arts.
