The night of Aug. 24 was the end of summer. Many may not have realized it, but that was the night that the fog rolled in. Knott’s Berry Farm officially kicked off the Halloween season with Nightmares Revealed, an exclusive preview event to detail all the horrors planned for this, its 50th year of haunts.
The event offered a tantalizing glimpse into the spine-tingling horrors that await thrill-seekers when Knott’s Scary Farm returns for its milestone season, running from Sept. 21 to Oct. 31.
Knott’s Scary Farm has come a long way since its modest three-day Halloween Haunt debut in 1973. Over the past five decades, it has transformed into Southern California’s most iconic, classic Halloween theme park event, offering unimaginable scares and innovative thrills. The 50th anniversary edition promises to be an unforgettable experience, blending nostalgic nods to the past with wickedly creative new mazes, scare zones and shows.
This year’s lineup boasts three brand new mazes that are sure to haunt dreams:
Cinema Slasher: Venture through the mystical Midnight Theater where guests will find themselves immersed in a trilogy of slasher movies, struggling to escape the clutches of a dangerous Slasher.
The Chilling Chambers: Paying homage to Scary Farm’s storied history, this maze guided by The Keeper delves into the ominous cathedral, unearthing classic maze themes from the past 50 years.
Room 13: The Blind Tiger’s Prohibition-era revelry is interrupted by violent murders attributed to The Devil’s Elixir. What sinister secrets lie within Room 13 of the Argive Hotel?
Classic scare zone, The Gauntlet, returns with a fresh twist, while fan-favorite Dr. Cleaver makes a demented comeback. A brand new musical, “Music, Monsters & Mayhem,” takes audiences on a thrilling musical journey through 50 years of terror.
And most notably, The Hanging makes its startling return! The iconic, fan favorite show lampooning the year’s best (and worst) of pop culture was cancelled in 2019 for not being politically correct. Now, after four years off, “The Hanging: UnCancelled” returns to “piss off anyone without a sense of humor,” according to Jeff Tucker, the Master of Scaremonies for the event.

The Timber Mountain Log Ride gets its seasonal twist with the Halloween Hootenanny, complete with an original soundtrack by Krazy Kirk and the Hillbillies, and the Calico Candy Mine Ride is open for guests once again to get their sweet treat fix on the classic attraction.
