The Dilijan Chamber Series will return to its home in Zipper Hall in Los Angeles for an eighth season beginning Sept. 30.
Dilijan is opening its season after winning success and acclaim for its summer Dilijan Festival in Armenia in June. The eight concerts presented then were met with high praise and left a deep imprint on Armenia’s musical community.
They follow up those successes with the promise of more at home in Los Angeles. Returning to perform with Dilijan will be musicians Kim Kashkashian, Kuniko Kato and Richard O’Neill, among others. The six concerts of the 2012-13 season will feature the series’ traditional focus on Armenian culture with works by Debussy, Ravel, Enescu and Haydn. Local composers Artur Avanesov, Ian Krouse and Gabriela Lena Frank will also leave their mark with the world premieres of their music commissioned by Dilijan.
