On Wednesday, Nov. 20 from 12:10 p.m. to 12:40 p.m. the Free Admission Glendale Noon Concerts will feature the Aviara Trio performing the Brahms Piano Trio No.2 in C Major and Astor Piazzolla’s Oblivion. The performance will be at the Sanctuary of Glendale City Church.

The Aviara Trio is composed of Robert Schumitzky, violin, Erin Breene, cello and Ines Irawati, piano.

Sheer passion for chamber music drives Aviara Trio. This exciting ensemble has made an indelible impression on the musical landscape of Southern California for the past decade. Most recently, the trio was honored to perform at the Hollywood Bowl on Celebrate LA, Los Angeles Philharmonic’s 100-year anniversary celebration. A performance on the 10th anniversary season of the High Desert Chamber Music series in Bend, Oregon was another 2018 highlight. This concert was broadcast live on Oregon public radio station KWAX.

Last season, the trio appeared on the Fallbrook Music Society series, Bradford House, Classics at the Merc in Temecula, Encinitas by-the-Sea Soirée, and Balboa Island Concert series. In recent seasons, the trio has performed on the San Diego City Library series, Rancho Bernardo Chamber Music series, Point Loma Nazarene University’s Crill Hall, and MusiKamar series.

“Aviara Trio was the best group yet. Everyone was spellbound! I, myself, was left breathless at the end of both the Mendelssohn and the Dvorak,” said Lauren Golden, concert director of Encinitas By-the-Sea Soirée.

With performance degrees from the Juilliard School, Cleveland Institute of Music, Yale University, and Rice University, Irawati, Breene and Schumitzky have studied and performed with some of the world’s finest musical pedagogues including Paul Katz, Claude Frank, Timothy Eddy, Fred Sherry, Joseph Silverstein, Jacques Israelievitch, Sally Thomas, Miriam Fried, Peter Oundjian, and the Juilliard, Miró, American, Tokyo, Cleveland, Borromeo and Alexander Quartets.

Members of the trio have been grand prize winners in the Coleman National Chamber Music Competition, Finalists in the Fischoff Chamber Music Competition and Concert Artist’s Guild Auditions, winners of the D’angelo International Piano Competition, and the La Jolla Young Artists Competition. They have soloed with the Tokyo Symphony, Cleveland Institute of Music Orchestra, Orchestra Nova, St. Louis Symphony, Milwaukee Symphony, and La Jolla Symphony.

Pianist Ines Irawati currently serves as the artistic and music director of the San Diego Opera Young Artist Training Program. Violinist, Robert Schumitzky and cellist Erin Breene perform with Pacific Symphony, Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, and the Long Beach Opera Orchestra. Breene performs on a modern cello made by Los Angeles-based Michael Fischer, and Schumitzky performs on the “Ex-Halir” Stradivarius violin made in 1694.
