Little Landers Historical Society invites the community to a holiday party at the old clubhouse at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 12 – the only community event around an old fashion Christmas tree. A holiday raffle will be held after singer Franny McCartney entertains with music for the season. The raffle will be followed by refreshments. Program and refreshments are free.

The Verdugo Hills Hospital BEGINNINGS Family Education Program offers babysitting classes designed for boys and girls between the ages of 11 and 15. The babysitting class is an interactive course that teaches participants valuable skills, including infant/child CPR, basic first aid, home/auto safety, accident prevention, telephone skills, safety tips, when to call 911, poison control, fire/earthquake plans and other helpful childcare advice. Upon completion of the course, participants will receive a babysitting course completion certificate.

Upcoming babysitting classes are held on: Dec. 5, Jan. 23, Feb. 27. Each class is a single, one-time class, held from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Glendale Latino Association is having its November mixer and annual toy drive tonight at New Horizons Family Center from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. tonight, Thursday, Nov. 19. $10 entrance fee. Verdugo Hills Golf Course offers golf classes for juniors on Saturdays at 9 a.m. These one-hour golf classes are for ages 5 to 15.
