Performance groups are invited to apply for the Brand Summer Music Series and the Jewel City Concert Series. Music ensembles must be trios or larger to participate. Musicians interested in applying may visit GlendaleArtsandCulture.org/PerformanceSeries to apply. The application portal opens on Monday, Dec. 2 at 10 a.m. and closes on Friday, Jan. 31, 2025 at 5 p.m.
The Brand Summer Music Series is an outdoor concert series located on the hillside area behind the Brand Library & Art Center. Performances are scheduled for every Friday from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. beginning July and going through August and must be one set, 90 minutes in duration. Performance groups will receive a stipend of $1,700 per performance. Concert attendees often bring their own chairs and picnic amenities and enjoy dancing next to the stage. Please note that alcohol is prohibited and performances may be experienced by children and families.
The Brand Summer Music Series began in 2014 and is supported by the Glendale Arts and Culture Commission, through funding from the Urban Art Program, with support from Glendale Library, Arts & Culture, Glendale Community Services and Parks, and the Brand Associates.
The Jewel City Concert Series is an outdoor concert series taking pace in the fall at the Artsakh Paseo located in the Glendale Downtown Arts & Entertainment District. Performances are scheduled for every Saturday from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. beginning the last weekend in September and continues through October and must be one set, 60 minutes in duration. Performance groups will receive a stipend of $1,200 per performance. The Paseo has limited seating and is situated parallel to Brand Boulevard next to LOOK Cinemas, Urartu Coffee, Octopus Japanese Fusion Restaurant, Gen Korean BBQ House and The Glendale Room. Shoppers and visitors to the local businesses make up the majority of the audience and performances may be experienced by children and families.
The Jewel City Concert series began in 2017 and is supported by the City of Glendale and the Glendale Arts and Culture Commission, with funding from the Urban Art Program.
