The Glendale Community College Orchestra presents its annual fall concert in the college auditorium on Dec. 9 at 3 p.m.

In honor of the college’s 85th anniversary, the orchestra will be performing pieces from around the time of GCC’s founding in 1927.

The orchestra’s featured work will be George Gershwin’s “American in Paris,” said GCC music professor Beth Pflueger. Other pieces the orchestra will perform include works by John Philip Sousa, Charles Griffes and William Schuman.

The 64-member strong orchestra is made up of GCC students and community volunteers.

Tickets can be purchased through Glendale Arts at www.glendalearts.org, or by calling the GCC box office at (818) 240-1000, Ext. 5612.
