Not only has the holiday season arrived – so have holiday treats. Toothsome Chocolate Emporium & Savory Feast Kitchen at Universal CityWalk Hollywood is getting in on the fun too with its holiday tribute milkshake “Tis the Season.” This delightful concoction is a holly jolly treat, a celebration of the holiday spirit in a glass and, for our LA winter, a milkshake at Christmas still hits the spot.
At first glance, the shake is clearly super cute. Many of these shakes from The Dessert Foundry at Toothsome can be seen across social media because they’re just gorgeous. And many of them taste as good as they look. This shake is no exception, with a white chocolate-coated mason jar rolled in holiday sprinkles. The shake itself blends a solid vanilla ice cream with the comforting warmth of brown sugar, cinnamon and caramel. Each element is perfectly balanced, ensuring that the shake remains vanilla at its core while being elevated by the subtle notes of brown sugar and the roasty hint of cinnamon.
Bursting out of the top of the mason jar are the toppings – green whipped topping, holiday sprinkles and a classic hand-decorated gingerbread man cookie – which add layers of texture and taste, making it cute and festive while adding more exciting flavors at every step. Many of the shakes at The Dessert Foundry, both on the standing menu and the specialty seasonal shakes, have been spectacular and this one is no surprise. Over the last year, we’ve come to expect a lot of great things from The Dessert Foundry, and we haven’t been let down by a shake yet. This shake is a perfect addition to the menu for the season as it captures the essence of classic holiday sugar cookies in a delightful, sip-able form.
This shake was a hit with my family, especially my toddler who consumed his shake in minutes as we walked toward Universal Studios Hollywood, ready to hit the play place with sugary fury.
“Tis the Season” is a testament to Toothsome’s culinary creativity and a must-try for anyone visiting Universal CityWalk this holiday season.
