Another bone marrow registry drive was held at St. Bede’s church on Sunday, Jan. 16 on behalf of Michael, a local high school student with leukemia. Among those participating were St. Bede parishioners, firefighters (including one from Station 82), PCY school parents, friends of friends, and many members from the La Cañada Presbyterian Church.
The fourth grade Girl Scout Troop 91 supported the drive with treats they baked in addition to their help in running the drive. Boys from Troops 509 and 502 also helped with running the event.
The next drive on behalf of Michael is scheduled for Sunday, May 22 from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at St. Bede’s and will be a blood drive in addition to the bone marrow registry drive. The Los Angeles Children’s Hospital mobile blood donating unit will be coming to St. Bede.
St. Bede’s is located at 215 Foothill Blvd., La Cañada Flintridge.
